An unspoilt Tyrolean village located between the Kitbuhler Alps and the Wild Emperor mountains, Ellmau boasts Austria's longest mountain funicular railway. It’s also the largest resort in the Ski Welt circuit - one of Austria’s grandest networks of pistes This region counts 93 lifts and 250km of runs spread around an oval of nine linked resorts. Two further resorts, Kelchsau and Westendorf, are also included on the lift pass, but only connected by bus.
As in nearby Soll, the resort’s apres ski is varied and up-tempo. Locals actually claim that they offer some of the best restaurants in Austria, which might just be a proud exaggeration. However, the resort has more than a handful of great pubs and bars for memorable party nights. Non-skiing days can be pleasantly spent in the Kaiserbad water chutes and adventure swimming-park.
3* Chalet Aigner - 5 nights - half board
A comfortable chalet providing all the essentials for a ski holiday. Located just outside Ellmau, the bus stop is right across the road and will have you skiing or outside a bar within minutes. All chalets gave a no smoking policy.
