A late night stay in Las Palmas, allows time to explore this island that basks under a cobalt-blue African sky; from the desolate and mountainous interior, to the untrammelled coastline around Puerto de las Nieves. Dominated by Pico de Tiede – Spain’s tallest mountain - Tenerife is where you will welcome the New Year.   • 29 Dec: La Gomera, Canary Islands - arrive 0800, depart 1700.

  • 30 Dec: Las Palmas, Gran Canaria – arrive 0800 and spend evening in port.

  • 31 Dec: Depart Las Palmas, Gran Canaria at 0200 and sail onto Tenerife, arrive at 0800. Spend New Years Eve watching the fireworks in Tenerife.

  • 1 Jan: Depart Tenerife at 0200.

  • 2 to 4 Jan: Leisure days at sea to top up that tan.
